Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Students Matching Day Huge Success

The Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering students in Bill Rakonczay’ s class had a very successful Matching Day through the Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program recently.

Fifteen companies took part over two days at the Orleans Career and Technical Education Center, where representatives spent time interviewing each senior in the program for a paid co-op position.  Students spent seven minutes at each companies’ table discussing their skills and goals for careers.  It was a great experience for the students not only because it gave them valuable interview skills, but many of them walked away with multiple offers to work for the companies.

“It was a great opportunity for the students,” says Mr. Rakonczay.  “I am so very thankful to the companies and the support they show my program.  I am so proud of the way my students conducted themselves and the way they represented us.”

Thank you to Taylor Devices, Niagara Precision, JW Burgh, Voss Manufacturing, Nuclear Alloys, Pivot Precision, Custom Manufacturing and Design, and Performance Manufacturing,

Modern-Tech CNC, Moly Magnetics, Palma Tool and Die, Amada Machine, HFW Industries, Nuttall Gear, and E&R Machine for coming in and interviewing the students.
