Students at the Godfrey Learning Center and Newfane Learning Center recently had an opportunity to participate in the SNAP-Ed program.  SNAP-Ed stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education.  Home Economics teacher Susan Brown explains that it is statewide program that teaches how to shop for and cook healthy meals and leads to physically healthy lifestyles.  “They provide nutritional education and offer hands-on workshops that empowers participants.”

Students had lessons in hands-on workshops that consisted of presentation, a student activity and snack with a recipe.  “The classes enjoyed learning about healthier options for food and they are looking forward to more workshops during the school year.
