Farrar

The Orleans/Niagara BOCES Board of Education has appointed Taweepon Farrar, Ed.D, to be the next District Superintendent of the Orleans/Niagara BOCES.  

Dr. Farrar was the Superintendent of the West Valley Central School District.  She began her public education career as a School Counselor and Department Chairperson in West Seneca Central School District.  Dr. Farrar then spent fourteen years in the Akron Central School District having been promoted a number of times, a building administrator, Director of Special Education and then as the Director of Educational Services and District Data Coordinator at the time she departed to take the position in West Valley.  Prior to her educational professional career, Dr. Farrar served for six years in the United States Navy. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, a Master of Science degree in School Counseling and Human Services and another Master of Science degree in School Administration and Supervision from Canisius College, and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN.  

Dr. Farrar has a proven track record of implementing strategic initiatives to improve student outcomes, enhance teacher performance and foster a positive learning environment.  She prides herself on being a visionary leader with a commitment to educational excellence, stakeholder engagement, and community collaboration.

The Board would like to welcome Dr. Farrar to the organization, and we look forward to a bright future!  The Board will be planning a meet and greet reception for Dr. Farrar in the near future.
