Four students and teacher aide show off box of treats

Health Occupations Technician (HOT) teacher Darcy Bouchard and her students were trying to find a way to thank all the healthcare professionals at Northgate Health Care

Facility for allowing them to do their clinical training there. Clinical training involves supervised practical experience in healthcare settings, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge to real-life patient care, and is crucial for developing the skills needed to pass the certification nursing assistant exam.

Thanks to STEP Food Service teacher Alan Benevento, and his class at the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center, they came up with a very sweet way to do so. Mr. Benevento worked with his students to make all sorts of snacks for the HOT students to deliver to the North Tonawanda facility to show their gratitude. "We are so thankful to the Food Service program," says Ms. Bouchard. "The Northgate "B" Wing staff are certainly in for a treat!"
