Cosmetology and Fashion Design/Interior Decorating students at the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center recently took part in a Professional Services Day at the center.

Cosmetology teacher Pauline Carney says that she and her fellow Cosmetology teachers Erica Cook and Jillian Fisher, along with Fashion Design/Interior Decorating teacher Debbie Wilczak, are grateful to their advisory committee members who set up displays and informational booths about new techniques and products.  “The students took part in a scavenger hunt where they had to find different things from the booths, such as business cards, brochures, etc.,” Ms. Carney explains.  “It gave them an opportunity to introduce themselves to future industry contacts.  The students also had to conduct an interview with a person in their field.”

Mrs. Wilczak says for her students, the purpose was to walk around and talk to industry professionals and college representatives.  “We were thrilled to have Villa Maria College, Genesee Community College, Purseona, Hunt Real Estate, House of Colour, and Buffalo History Museum there.”
