Two former 2014 graduates of the Graphic Communications Program from the Niagara Center came to visit their former teacher Karen Krull’s Graphic Communication class at the Orleans Center and Technical Education Center.
Steven Steves and Eli Zapp, both formally from North Tonawanda High School, came in to show the class some skills. Eli owns a company called 413 Merch in North Tonawanda which does silk-screening. Currently he is working on merchandise for the North Tonawanda Dyngus Day Celebration. “Eli keeps active with our class by being a member of our advisory committee,” says Krull. “He also has students from the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center in Susan Stratton’s Graphic Communication class come to his business to shadow.”
Steve talked about his experience in publishing and shared his comic book “The Horrible Life of Norman.” He also discussed his college experience with animation. The two graduates came to the Graphic Communications class with silk screen designs and shirts for the students to create. Steve assisted the students. Student Tyler Burzynski (Orleans Learning Center) said, “Steve told me about the many opportunities he had by taking this class.”
