For many years the students from Niagara Academy have been honoring veterans by teaming up with American Legion Post 1451 of Sanborn. Annually, around Memorial Day the students place flags at the graves of area servicemen and women who have served as far back as the American Revolution. This year, Orleans/Niagara BOCES staff members Mike Gengo, Kevin Manning and Brian Busch supervised their students during the community outing.
